Drubdra Khenpo in Italy: Dzogchen, Tummo and more

We were delighted to host Drubdra Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin in Italy for an intense two weeks of teachings, practice, university lectures, book presentations and shared experiences.

After a couple of days exploring the sea and mountains in Tuscany, Drubdra Khenpo headed down to Rome at the invitation of Professor Donatella Rossi for a lecture at La Sapienza, Europe’s largest university.

Khenpo-lags gave a detailed exposition on the Nine Ways of Bön which was well attended both at the university and online.

We also enjoyed a whistlestop tour of some of Rome’s historic sites, including St. Peters and the Colosseum.

Back in Tuscany, Drubdra Khenpo gave a short presentation at Nuova Avventura bookstore to launch our new series of Bönpo books in Italian, published by Carte Amaranta. These and forthcoming titles will be widely available both online and in bookstores.

From 4-6 October, Khenpo-lags gave deep and inspiring teachings on Yongdzin Rinpoche’s “Concise Explanation and Commentary on the Supplication Prayer to Lord Tapihritsa, Mind Emanation of Kuntu Zangpo / རྗེ་ཏ་པི་ཧྲི་ཙའི་གསོལ་འདེབས་ཀུན་བཟང་ཐུགས་སྤྲལ་མའི་འགྲེལ་བ་མདོར་བསྡུས་ཤིག་བཀོད་པ་ཡེ་ཤེས་རབ་འཕེལ་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་བཞུགས་སོ།།” followed by a full day of tsalung-tummo teachings according to Bönpo Mother Tantra, demonstrations and transmissions.

Several people asked for lung-transmissions of Dzogchen texts, sadhanas etc, and Drubdra Khenpo kindly gave them all, as well as the lung and brief explanation on Gongchyo Namsum (also available in English and Italian).

It was uplifting to see many old students as well as newcomers practising together.

This was FPYB’s first time organising a teaching retreat and we’d like to thank everyone who supported us. Drubdra Khenpo very much enjoyed his visit to Italy and we are already planning his next one!
