Boundless Compassion
Homage to the Master! This morning Yongdzin Rinpoche received his copies of The Four Samayas of Dzogchen and Thirteen Points of Tantra and Tsewang Mönlam thanks to Largen Lama who brought them from France.
Here Rinpoche is holding the book open at the page with his own photo, taken by Dmitry back in 1996 at Triten Norbutse.

As it says in the Tsewang Mönlam:
“སུམ་ལྡན་བླ་མ་ཞིག་དང་མཇལ་ནས་ཀྱང་།
May I meet with a lama endowed with the three perfections
of contemplation, moral discipline and wisdom…”
and:
“གདུལ་བྱ་བསྟན་པ་དར་ཞིང་རབ་རྒྱས་ནས།
May both the doctrines and those suitable to follow them increase
ཕ་རོལ་གཞན་སྣང་ཟིལ་གྱིས་གནོན་པ་དང་།
and at that time may they become glorious beings which outshine all others
ཀུན་གྱི་མགོན་སྐྱབས་རེ་གནས་གྱུར་ནས་ཀྱང་།
thus may all sentient beings look to them for help and refuge;
བདག་ཉིད་ཐུགས་རྗེ་བཞི་དང་ལྡན་པར་ཤོག
I wish and pray to be endowed with the four kinds of compassion!”*
*Boundless compassion which is like the sky ‒ Tib. rgya che ba nam mkha’ lta bu’i thugs rje / རྒྱ་ཆེ་བ་ནམ་མཁའ་ལྟ་བུའི་ཐུགས་རྗེ།; All-illuminating compassion which is like the sun ‒ Tib. kun gsal ba nyi ma lta bu’i thugs rje / ཀུན་གསལ་བ་ཉི་མ་ལྟ་བུའི་ཐུགས་རྗེ།; Inexhaustible compassion which is like the earth ‒ Tib. zad pa med pa sa gzhi lta bu’i thugs rje / ཟད་པ་མེད་པ་ས་གཞི་ལྟ་བུའི་ཐུགས་རྗེ།; Unceasing compassion which is like a great river ‒ Tib. rgyun chad med pa chu bo lta bu’i thugs rje / རྒྱུན་ཆད་མེད་པ་ཆུ་བོ་ལྟ་བུའི་ཐུགས་རྗེ།.
