New Book: “How to Practise Dzogchen in Daily Life”

Today (15th day of the 8th lunar month) is the anniversary of when one of Tönpa Shenrab’s sons, Regent Dungsob Mucho Demdrug (Tib. Gdung-sob Mu-cho ldem-drug), turned the Wheel of Bön. This marked the beginning of the Doctrine of Speech (Tib. gsung gi bstan pa), the second 10,000-year period of this current 30,000-year long cycle of Yungdrung Bön. As it says in the Tsewang Mönlam: “སུམ་ལྡན་བླ་མ་ཞིག་དང་མཇལ་ནས་ཀྱང་། May I meet with a lama endowed with the three perfections of contemplation, moral discipline and wisdom…” and: “གདུལ་བྱ་བསྟན་པ་དར་ཞིང་རབ་རྒྱས་ནས། May both the doctrines and those suitable to follow them increase ཕ་རོལ་གཞན་སྣང་ཟིལ་གྱིས་གནོན་པ་དང་། and at that time may they…

Dhorpatan: home to the first Bönpo Medical School in exile. Please help

Many of us have benefited from the herbal medicines prepared by the clinic attached to Triten Norbutse Monastery but perhaps not so many know the history of this medical school. The first medical school and clinic were actually established back In 1987 in the refugee settlement of Dhorpatan, Nepal at the request of Yongdzin Rinpoche and 33rd Menri Tridzin Rinpoche by Dr. Tsultrim Sanggye. This area has recently been attacked by locusts that have destroyed the villagers’ potato crops and maybe some precious herbs, too. Please help us send them food and other essentials. Tsultrim Sanggye was born in East…
