New Translation & Yongdzin Rinpoche’s Instructions on the Healing Practice of Sipai Gyalmo
Recently we have been asked about the healing practice of Sipai Gyalmo that uses empowered water to cure and prevent illness. Yongdzin Rinpoche taught this text many times over the years. So, drawing on his explanations, we have made a fresh English translation of the core sadhana, and re-edited our transcript of the detailed teachings he gave in 2003, during the outbreak of SARS.
The Essential Point of the Profound Contemplation on the Wrathful Mantra of Sipai Gyalmo was revealed by Sipai Gyalmo herself, and Yongdzin Rinpoche is the fourth lineage holder of this very recent practice that specifically targets ‘modern diseases.’
As well as the sadhana recitation and mantra, the text explains how to protect ourselves and those around us through consecrating water for drinking and washing; making a flag with mantras; making tsa-tsa; using Sipai Gyalmo’s seal; wearing herbal medicine, and making a protective travel thread. There is also a section on signs that herald the approach of a plague or epidemic.
