New Article: Rainbow Body & Christ

Dear Friends, FPYB is happy to present a new article by Dmitry Ermakov. This article is based on the presentation given at the Sixth International Conference of Bon Studies, Triten Norbutse Institution, Kathmandu, 7–8 February 2025, during Yongdzin Lopön Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche’s centenary jubilee celebration. On that occasion, I had to cut or summarise some points due to time constraints, so I have re-inserted them here in full as well as including some additional material spurred on by the questions and discussions that my presentation sparked. It has taken me some time to rearrange the material and prepare it for…

Celebrating a Hundred Years of Wisdom This year saw thousands gathering at Triten Norbutse Monastery to celebrate the great life and work of Yongdzin Lopön Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche and join in the inauguration of the new temple. Lusang: do’s and don’ts

Who are the Lu? Lu are water spirits or Water Owners, known as Naga in Sanskrit and Zhang Zhung. They don’t only live in water, and in fact there are many different classes of Lu inhabiting various worlds and elements. Since each of the five main elements is made of five sub-elements, each has a sub-element of water in which Lu reside. For example, if we take the fire element there is fire-fire, fire-earth, fire-wind, fire-space and fire-water, and some Lu reside in fire-water. The same is true for all the other elements. The full list of various kinds of…

At the invitation of Khenchen Tenpa Yungdrung, Khenpo Gelek Jinpa and Prof. Charles Ramble, Carol and Dmitry were honoured to contribute chapters to Yongdzin Rinpoche’s Centenary Volume, Celebrating 100 Years of Wisdom. The book includes an Introduction, a short biography of Yongdzin Rinpoche’s remarkable life, as well as contributions by scholars and Yongdzin Rinpoche’s disciples. We have just received the official PDFs of our chapters from Charles Ramble plus our author’s copies from Bidur and Lokesh Dongol of Vajra Publications. Thanks to all those involved in producing this memorable book! We are happy to share our chapters here: Carol Ermakova:…
