9,842 Anniversary of Buddha Tönpa Shenrab Miwoche’s Parinirvana

Today, on the 30th day of the 9th month according to the Horda (Tib. hor-zla) calendar, we are celebrating the Anniversary of Buddha Tönpa Shenrab Miwoche (Tib. Rgyal-ba Ston-pa Gshen-rab Mi-bo-che) completing the Twelfth Deed, The Deed of Realisation (Tib. rnam-par grub-pa’i mdzad-pa), when he achieved nyangen ledepa (Tib. mya-ngan las’das-pa) or parinirvana in 7817 BC, 9,842 years ago. Through his life and teachings, the Buddha of Yungdrung Bön Tönpa Shenrab showed us the way from suffering to contentment, from strife to peace, and from anguish to ultimate Buddhahood. E Ma HO! Our 8th Anniversary: Reflections on the last 12 months

Anniversary of Nyamme Sherab Gyaltsen ཉམས་མེད་ཤེས་རབ་རྒྱལ་མཚན་དུས་དྲན་མཛད་སྒོ།

Today is the Anniversary of Nyamme Sherab Gyaltsen, founder of the Menri Monastery. The monks of Triten Norbutse and lay practitioners are doing rituals, practising and celebrating all day. In the evening there will be a kora and offering of light while reciting the prayer to this great master, the Dechen Gyalpo Prayer. Celebrations surrounding Yongdzin Lopon Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche’s Centenary

This year many sangha members, friends and scholars have gathered in Triten Norbutse Bonpo Monastery, Kathmandu, to celebrate Yongdzin Rinpoche’s 100th birthday. Zhang Zhung Losar The festivities began with a joyful 2-day event marking Zhang Zhung Losar, with many songs, feasting and much laughter as well as offerings of sangchӧ and auspicious prayers. Four days of intensive rituals For four full days, rituals were held in two of the monastery’s largest halls, the New Temple, and the Assembly Hall.
