Fifth Anniversary of the 33rd Menri Tridzin’s Nyangen Ledepa

Today, the 24th day of the 7th Tibetan lunar month, marks the 5th Anniversary of Kyabje Menri Tridzin Lungtog Tenpai Nyima Rinpoche’s Nyangen Ledepa (Tib. mya ngan las ‘das pa/ མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་པ།), Passing Beyond Samara and Nirvana and so we would like to share a few words from a teaching he gave to the Western Sangha in Shenten Dargye Ling, France, 2010, as well as some photos of his visit to the nearby town of Saumur.

We all have to go to work, but we should consider that if we go to work and do our job honestly and well, then this is not opposed to the practice of virtue; this is also good action, a good practice. We definitely have to go to work. There is work and practice, but they are complimentary, just as we have the left and right hands, the left and right legs, and we need them both to walk. Or we have the left eye and the right eye and we need them both to see. Here we are not talking about negative actions; we are talking about positive actions, and our work is necessary. We can combine our work with developing bodhichitta and that is a very good way.
