FPYB Joins Four On-line Schemes for Charities

Ancient tradition in modern times… although I’m not a great fan of online shopping, it does have its advantages, so FPYB has just joined four major schemes for charities: GiftAid, Amazon Smile, PayPal Giving Fund and GoFundMe. We also have a brand new ‘Donate’ button on our Facebook page.

PayPal Giving Fund: the UK government will add an extra 25% to any donation made when you check out with PayPal (from anywhere, and from as little as 1 Euro). To add us as your PayPal charity, simply follow these steps:

  1. Log into your PayPal account
  2. Go to the top right of your dashboard. Click ‘more’
  3. Scroll down and click on ‘make an impact’
  4. Scroll down to ‘Choose your favourite charity and search for Foundation for the Preservation of Yungdrung Bon
  5. Click on Foundation for the Preservation of Yungdrung Bon, and you’re done!

Next time you pay with PayPal, you’ll see a prompt. ‘Donate 1 pound’. For every pound donated, the UK government gives an additional 25p.

Amazon Smile: if you buy online using Amazon Smile rather than your regular Amazon account, Amazon will donate 0.5% of the value of your purchase to FPYB. No extra cost for you!

Here’s how: Just go to FPYB website, and at the very bottom of the Home Page you’ll see a box with a button ‘visit Amazon Smile’. Click on the button and follow the links.

GiftAid: the UK government will pledge an additional 25% of every donation when you click the ‘GiftAid it’ option when you make a gift via our ‘Support/Donate’ buttons (NB – only applies to those in UK).

Facebook/GoFundMe: I’m sure you’ve all seen people running birthday fundraisers on their Facebook pages? Well, now you can easily set up a GoFundMe for FPYB, too. Just go to the Menu at the top right of your Profile Page, scroll down to ‘Create a fundraiser’ and follow the prompts.

FPYB is a very small charity run by a handful of busy volunteers. As a non-profit organisation, we rely on your generosity to continue our work. Although two of the founding members cover all overheads (electricity, Wi-Fi etc) and equipment (computers, printer), FPYB faces annual running costs to maintain our website and keep it safe for our users, plus expenses for the software we need to produce our books and other materials. While some of these costs are met by revenue from book sales, we still need donations because we want to keep our prices as low as possible.

Many thanks!
