Today (9th month, 30th day) we are celebrating Nyangenledepa (mya ngan las ‘das pa) / Parinirvana of Tönpa Shenrab Miwoche, Buddha of Yungdrung Bön. So it is fitting to read some of his words to his followers, as translated by Yongdzin Rinpoche:

Many of us have benefited from the herbal medicines prepared by the clinic attached to Triten Norbutse Monastery but perhaps not so many know the history of this medical school. Gautama Buddha is, according to Yungdrung Bon, an emanation of Sangwa Düpa who was a disciple of Buddha Tönpa Shenrab Miwo.
